This was a UI/UX website concept for a conceptual daycare center. I worked on this website's UX documentation, branding, and the UI design.
I chose this concept to design a website for as I wanted to challenge my skills in being able to design a website that can showcase a fun and safe place for children while also able to alleviate any worry parents may have with any concerns they have with regards to their children's safety and the environment they'll be in while in the daycare.
My Approach to the Design:
For this design in particular, I didn't focus too much on the UX aspects and chose to focus more on the overall look and design of the website as I wanted to rely more on the look itself to convey the feeling of fun yet safety to give the parents/viewers of the website a peace of mind that the daycare center is a place where their kids can be safe yet also have fun.
Before I got started, I first had to create an information architecture to plan out the pages that the website will contain.
Information Architecture
As for functionality, I decided that users wouldn't be able to book/reserve a spot for their child through the website immediately on the spot but rather, the process will be is that users will sign up for the daycare's waitlist and the daycare will be able to contact the users afterwards and the transaction will be done in person after the user has been able to see the daycare place for themselves and judge whether the enviroment will be a fit for their child.
I made this decision to make the entire process feel more exclusive for the parents and so that they can also feel a lot more trust and a sense of safety with the daycare's process knowing that no random person can just easily book/pay for a spot in the daycare in the website anytime without it being checked or verified by someone on the daycare's side first.
I also decided that the waitlist form will be an external form like Google Forms or Typeform etc. and that the form wouldn't be built in within the website to make it easier for the developers and more functional for the daycare as it will be very handy for them to be able to create other forms/surveys they might need for parents to improve their services. This also also makes it a lot easier for the daycare to use an already existing and established external form platform like Google Forms or Typeform etc. so that they can have the freedom to create other forms as they need without needing any developers to create the forms for them each time they need it as they would need to if their forms were built into the website.
Once the pages that will be designed for the website has been finalized on, I then moved onto working on the branding of the daycare before I could start on designing the user interface itself.
Branding
For the daycare's color pallete, I decided on the following colors below-
Dark blue: Dark blue is often associated with trust, professionalism, and reliability. It can create a sense of security and stability, which are important attributes for a daycare brand. Dark blue can also evoke feelings of calmness, which is beneficial for both children and parents.
Dark pink: Dark pink is a warm and nurturing color that is often means love, care, and compassion. It can create a sense of comfort and safety which can help evoke a peace of mind. Dark pink can also create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, which can help children feel at ease.
Yellow: Yellow is a bright and cheerful color that often symbolizes happiness, energy, and creativity. It can create a sense of playfulness and fun, which embodies the daycare brand's fun environment. Yellow can also stimulate mental activity, which can be beneficial for children's learning and development.
Orange: Orange is a warm and energetic color that can symbolize enthusiasm, creativity, and excitement. It can create a sense of vibrancy and activity, which is important for a daycare brand. Orange can also promote feelings of warmth and friendliness, which can help children feel comfortable and happy.
Overall, the combination of dark blue, dark pink, yellow, and orange can create a balanced and harmonious color palette for the daycare brand. These colors can evoke a sense of trust, care, playfulness, and vibrancy, which are all important attributes for a daycare brand that wants to create a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment for children.
User Interface Design
Once I had the branding done, I then started to design the different pages of the website. Have a look below!
I also decided to create a sidebar on the right that showcases the different social media links that the daycare has for ease of accessibility and the sidebar when functional and fully developed, will maintain to be in the users' eyes as it will scroll down or up along with the user's view.

What's Next:
For this project, I plan to design the rest of the mobile view (responsive design) screens of the website. Another idea I had was to incorporate an intuitive and interactive way to have a virtual tour of the daycare within the website itself.
Thank you so much for your time and attention! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to look through my work and design process for this website concept.
